Had an 18 wheel rig and a hound-dog. A cat and a gal and a friend; Life was rosy, it seemed, and I never once dreamed What was waitin' for me 'round the bend. Lost my rig when it totaled a K-Mart, Leavin' scarely a shopper alive; Even worse, sad to tell, lost my dog there as well; Guess I shouldn't have taught him to drive. Lost my cat when she drank my corn liquor; Dang, you ain't never seen such a lush- Got all woozy and sank in my new septic tank; Now I smell her whenever I flush. Lost my friend to an animal rights group; He now lives with a sheep, Mary Jo; Lost my gal, now my ex, who is changing her sex Just to go on the Donahue show. Thought they're gone and I've lost 'em forever. Don't be sigin' no sad songs for me; Ain't no comfort or joy for an old country boy Till he's livin' in pure misery. ...then you give it a hard, tough Rap beat, like this: Don't front..me..man, with your wimped-out..slop! I've been stressed..out..good from bottom to top! I was chill, word up, but now this brother's..pissed, 'Cause my turf's..been..aced and my head's..been..dissed! Next a brother got hyped-now he homes out steady In beast-ie..land with a bah-bah beddie! Then my lady flew a sing like zonked-out-mother- She'll soon..be..frontin' as a wanna-be brother! They've busted my chops and I'm one..steamed..dude, And it don't..do..much for my at-ti-tude! If this rap..don't..leave..you sat-is-fied, Then you're better off, honkie, with Char-lie..Pride! JO>Personally I can't understand what the big fuss is about with the new JO>cds..heck it's live material that's been previously out hasn't it? JO>And only 4 or so new tracks??? Well, the fuss is because this lineup is back together after 18 years. The live material was recorded from 3 concerts this past March in California. Included are some songs that have never been recorded live. It's also interesting to see how they play together after all this time, so even the songs that were previously available live are great to hear. This album includes 2 new studio tracks, about 30 minutes worth. JO>Ok, the classic lineup does pretty enticing for a tour and for them to JO>play the old stuff and standards..Lonely cd> JO>and a few other long songs...> JO>but will it fly well? Well, here's the latest news. They are back in the studio recording more new stuff, and Keys to Ascension 2 will be out in the spring. It will include additional live material from the March concerts, and will include about 40 minutes of new studio tracks. A major world tour (continuous touring for a year) is in the works, they are working with a laser company to put on a big show, so we should be seeing them around here again maybe next summer. There was talk of rerecording all the keyboard parts with a new person, but they decided to leave it the way it is. Rumor has it that Patrick Moraz may return to the band, but nothing is finalized yet. Supposedly they will tour in the fall. So much for the good seats I had for the cancelled show at the Beacon. Every avenue I have checked has turned up dead, and every time I try to track down the company that made the game the music came from, I cannot find ANY info on them! Where can I go to submit this for publication as sheet music? I figured that any publishing company would have better resources to check than I would, and would keep me from unintentionally breaking any copyright rules. ANY info would be appreciated. I know the concept of MODS isnt new, but I have run into a number of computer owners and users who have never heard of them, let alone have MODS and a MOD player on their computer. And so, to that end, I am offering a copy of the MOD player I have, as well as ZIP files of some of the mods I have, should anyone be interested. The MOD player is freeware, as are the mods, so there are no worries about copyright infringement or anything like that. :) In fact, I'd set up my own file area for the mods I have, should there be enough interest that I could persuade our friendly SysOp to let me do so. Supposedly, the long-awaited GREATEST HITS VOLUME III will be released later this year, and it may include one or two of the aforementioned new releases. He is said to go on tour starting January 1998. Here's some more news about The Man: * Supposedly some singles will be released. The songs will either be brand new or previously unreleased material (he may have 2 unreleased songs for every 1 song published). * I heard from a friend that the long-awaited GREATEST HITS VOLUME III will be released later this year. Although the list of songs is still tentative, it is safe to say most songs will be taken from STORM FRONT. I visited the Sony Music web site to verify what my friend told me; it was there. * The Wonder Twins will begin touring again starting January 1998-- Billy Joel and Elton John will be reunited. I forgot to mention that GHIII will contain the same singles which will be released this year. If you or anyone else has more Billy Joel news, please post it. Thanks =) -- Lefty Date: Monday, July 28, 1997 7:20am Forum: Music From: Johndrake Msg#: 739664 To: Lefty Re: Billy's back (sort of) (Reply to #739376) The offical statement according to Billboard magazine has Billy Joel releasing that GREATEST HITS VOLUME III slated August 20th or the 19th..not sure but it's slated in late August. This is supposedly his "final tour" for sometime to come as he's concertrating on symphonic pieces now. He'll tour with Elton John again and do stadium shows with him in summer of 98...he's done a few shows late last year in Europe with Elton and has done his College Lecture tour as well ... The question marked list of what is on GH 3 is hard to tell but I think Billy did release an song which is a cover of a song I forgot the title of but 95.5 WPLJ plays it occassionally. That's mostly likely one of the "originals" ..
