Major Announcement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have just acquired a copy of The Major BBS for my PC. This is
the same software used by the biggest BBS's in the country. Some
of the BBS's running this software are:

Ashton Tate tech support
Sierra On-Line tech support
Central Point Software

and 2 boards in the New York area:

Liveline and City Lights

It will take me a few days to configure the system so that the
unique "feel" of After Hours is not lost. At the present time, I
do not plan to levy any charges for using the new system, so feel
free to continue calling after the changeover. I will make all
the current message bases available for downloading so that the
current conversations can continue on the new system. Please go
to the current events message base and leave your comments about
your experience using this new software on other boards. I am
also entertaining applications for sysops for the various SIG's
that will be online with the new system. If you would like to
host a SIG, just leave me mail.

A tip on using the bases:

Lets say you read a reply to a message that doesn't make sense
unless you go back and read the original message. After Hours
allows you to do that without losing your place. Simply press the
minus key (-) to read the parent message, then use the plus key
(+) to get back to where you were.

In case anyone's interested - After Hours has had:

* 51,853 callers
* 32,026 messages posted
* over 6,000 users (not all at once)

*We've been online continuously since March 20, 1986 (thats over
4 and 1/2 years).

Oh yeah, it has come to my attention that some people are trying
to send mail to users by entering another users account number.
It will never reach its destination unless you send the mail to
the users name. Hope this helps.

After Hours features a hot-key routine for the main menu, message
base menu, and the "RLGM" menu at the top of the message bases.
You should be able to select while the menu prints for quick
access to the various areas. I hope this routine works-let me
know!!!

PLEASE-everyone post an ad on another BBS telling about our
system.

A couple of quick hints for the
*expert users*:

-=> When entering your account
number, there is no need to
enter leading zero's. For
example, if your account
number is 0003, then just enter
3 instead.

-=> When reading through the messages,
the prompt tells you to press
'N' for the next message. You
may press any key to get the
next message except: P,Q,R,-,+
Try using the space bar, thats
my favorite!
